So, the gang took advantage of the first time this year that we were all available to do a lake trip. However, Monday will be here soon and Jeff and Denise will arrive to spend a few short days with us.
We have a hike, a kayak trip, lots of eating out, and porch time planned for them.
But Saturday, was perfect! The weather was in the mid-80s, the humidity was low, and there was no chance of rain…spectacular!
As usual, the Dragons split off from the Knights and formed their strategy circle on the party barge, while Gary, Ron, Steve, and I chose to enjoy our beer and cigars in chairs under the shade of the tent on the bank.
From the boat were sounds of cackling, and from the tent were teasing calls for “beer!” And, bless her heart, Terri made several “beer-maid” trips to the tent, and even
Naturally, nature always calls after a few rounds, and here I catch Neena, toilet paper and trowel in hand, heading for the deep woods! I gave her, and me, a break and didn’t follow her any further!
After about six hours, of relaxing on the lake, we headed back down Watts Bar to Charlotte and Gary’s new camping spot. They keep their new travel vehicle there in summer.
What a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors and family…nothing quite like Watts Bar Lake on a grand East Tennessee day!

Oh, I'm so jealous! Thanks for the lovely memories, though. When I lived in Missouri I used to hang out on a pontoon boat 3 out of 4 weekends. I can't think of anything that was more relaxing and fun.
Have a fun week with the "fat boy"!
Yes, enjoy your visit with Jeff and Denise... sounds like you're already in Party Mode, though! :-)
Sounds like you guys had a great time!
We were up in Sharps Chapel. The water was wonderful!
It's such a great thing that you have a steady group of friends you do things with. Really - it's a wonderful gift to have friends like those. Good for you, and them!
Looks like ya'll are having a great time. Hello to FAB from me and remember a hand without a beer in it is a sin.
Good point Grandpa!
Wow, I am anxiously waiting for temperature like that here in Phoenix, in the meantime we continue to roast. That looks like a lot of fun, we have a few lakes here and for some dumb reason I have not visited them, some even rent boats. Something worth looking into for the near future.
A trowel, eh?
'Fraid I'd need a full-sized shovel for MY "needs"!
Yeah, give "The Fat One" my best, too, when he gets there!
Life as you know it will be very different when they arrive!
I really need to figure out how to have a retirement as fun as yours. Have a great time with Jeff and Denise!
They are here and things are going well...got in out Big Ed's Pizza run, out hike, our Brewery run, and tomorrow is the canoe trip. Wild Wings on Thursday!
Man, that always looks like a huge time, every time you guys get to go out there. we were layin' around the house that Saturday, playin' with the grandbaby and then we went out in Bob's boat and floated the Sunquahanna river (pictures to come).
