You’ve been my “Mommazooty” for nearly 62 years now, and even when you were dusting the seat of my pants I never regretted it. You have been a great little momma and I love you very much.
You are a towering (albeit a short one) example of strength to Wade and me. You have been through the loss of three husbands, half a lung, about 4 feet of colon, and one knee, and continued to fight for and enjoy life. We will try to be as strong when those times come to us, and will always remember your witness.
I realized long ago that I was a witness too, a witness to the world to the kind of mother I had. I knew that if I did wrong, it reflected on you. I still got into things I should not have, but I was very careful and very afraid that someone would see me and tell my mom. But worst of all, that they might think you were not the perfect mother.
That is what witnessing is all about – if you do wrong and you have been out there purporting that you are, oh say a “Christian”, then you are reflecting poorly on our perfect example.
Thanks Mom for all that you have done!

How beautiful. You are lucky to have such a great mom, and she is equally as lucky to have such a great son. :)
Thanks Jill...and Happy Mother's day to you too!
Great post, Mushy! Especially that third paragraph...
That's how it was for me and my siblings, too. I don't know how many times we met friends' parents, and they commented that they needed to meet our mother.
A true testament to being raised right.
Hope she has great Mothers' Day! I'm thinking that's a given...
Well said, Mushy. Happy Mothers Day to your Mom!
What a truly fantastic tribute to your mom! She sounds like a strong and inspirational woman.
That was beautiful. You said a lot there that goes for all of us, with all the moms in our lives. Wonderful. Give her a huge hug for all of us.
Four feet of colon? TMI?
Excellent and reverential. All should love their mommas like you love your momma!
Awwww. That was nice, Mushy!
That was beautiful, Mushy. Wish I had had a chance to tell my mother those things, too. Well done!
