WHILE THE DRAGONS ARE AWAY THE KNIGHTS PLAY

While the Dragon’s were in Nashville to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on Thursday evening, and at the Grand Ole Opry House (with Vince Gill) on Friday, the Knights were living it up at the Irish Times Pub and Restaurant in Knoxville. Yep, we actually went there two days in a row!

Saturday we invited Steve’s daughter Becky and her beau Nick, up from “Hot-lanta!”

It was a slow calm day, finding us all in a good mood (prior to the SEC Championship Game). Oh well, the VOLS had their moments…maybe two!

Friday it was four Knights only, with us all ordering beer with Irish fare for lunch – Bangers and Mash, Irish Stew, Corn Beef, and Fish and Chips!

Guinness/Bass (aka black & tans) and Ireland’s own Smithwick’s was the brews of the day Saturday. However, I think I was the only one choosing to eat Irish with my corn beef sandwich. The rest got burgers!

I am still kicking myself for not taking the camera Friday. A guy drove into the parking lot and parked a beautiful ’66 Mustang GT 350…red with white racing strips! It was immaculate and I missed it!

DRAGONS AWAY – THE KNIGHTS PLAY

The Dragons went to Atlanta today and left the Knights un-chaperoned! It was Sammy Hagar, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, Old Scratch and George Dickel boilermakers, and rib eyes! These were true “depth charge” boilermakers, no sissy gulp, and chase! Plus Macanudo Gold Labels!

The fellowship was the best, the music loud, the steaks done right, and all I remember doing was the vegetable sauté!

Another great day guys!

I’m go’na have to get back to writing one of these days soon!
