CELEBRATING THE END OF THE HOUSEBOAT ERA!

The last houseboat my brother and sister-in-law will probably own sold this weekend, so we bid farewell to an era!
Charlotte and Gary,
Thank you for having us along for the ride all these years. Those moments have been some of the most special in all our lives. You have both made our lives so much richer. Sharing our lives on deck of one of your boats has meant so much and we will never forget you or them. The laughter and the memories will not fade as long as one of us lives.

I bet that was a lot of fun. Close friends make any situation the best. I've always thought it would be cool to have a house boat, but a lot more fun to know someone with one than to have to pay for one and maintain it. Years ago when I was on a canoe trip to Oklahoma and camping out on Broken Bow lake, we walked down to this pier where there were all these swanky nice house boats. These things were very expensive looking, and everyone was partying and the guests were driving a sports cars. Nice life if you can get it.

We had a 30 foot Gibson for a few years, love it. I would rather have one a little bigger though. Hubby traded it in on a pontoon boat, because I got tired of having to do all the cleaning and washing on the houseboat without any help from him. I quit washing it, he sold it. Go figure. ha
We're on the Tennessee River

These photos were taken at Euchee Marina - do you know where that is Debbie?
