THIS IS MY HOMETOWN

Take a quick look around Harriman, Tennessee, my hometown. GO HERE

It's probably a lot like your hometown...slowly being choked out by Wal-Mart and the ever encroaching big city shopping malls. However there is still life here, and if you look very closely, you'll see the beauty of what was once a thriving community.

The old Victorian Buildings are still standing...waiting for something new to happen to bring the people back to visit and admire them once again.

The Princess Theater restoration project hopes that from an arts and cultural center, in the old theater building in Downtown Harriman, will grow another bustling community full of hope and brighter future for our children.

Dude - I love your town! The Princess is an awesome old theater. And, when I saw the shot of the barber shop, I thought of Mayberry. I hope that doesn't sound condescending. I mean it in a very good way. It looks like a lovely place to live.

Someone is spending a lot of private money sprucing up San Saba. It's cool. Old facades being redone and new stores going in. Time will tell.

Your town looks nice -- I love old Victorian architecture. There's a part of me that loves the smaller towns, but then I also admit that I like the covenience of some of larger things like WalMart.
