MUSHY'S MOOCHINGS: DON'T GET CAUGHT DEAD!

DON'T GET CAUGHT DEAD!

I have been thinking about this mall shooting lately, and Friday, when I got my Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit renewal card in the mail, it hit me – I did not even “carry” these last five years! What a fool am I!

I once came into the house, gasping for air after having mowed our lawn with a push mower. I must have turned a magic age or something, but I went the next day and bought a riding mower. I made myself a promise – I will never be found dead lying behind a push mower. If it’s behind a mower, it will be a riding mower that I’ve suffered a heart attack on and fell off backwards!

The same should apply to this “canceled carry permit” in my billfold. I promise never to be found dead from a crazy’s gun shot, with my Concealed Carry Permit in my wallet and my weapon in the truck or at home!

I intend to get my money’s worth the next five years!

I third this emotion:

I'll add that I'm pretty sure that nobody in the Omaha mall was thinking, "Good thing the crazy guy is the only one here with a gun."

Watch out crazies…I have no qualms about popping a cap or two (double tap) in your stupid ass!

Yeah, I bought a 15 1/2 horse tractor mower a couple of years ago..handy thing to have around. I put a ball on it and use it to position my utility trailer and also drag a yard trailer with it. I use mulching blades and instead of raking leaves I mulch them and it will also windrow the pine straw..my next one is gonna have a power takeoff on it so I can attach a post hole auger, rotor tiller, and maybe even a box blade..

I've got a self propelled but I still end up soaked with sweat and tired as hell.

I've had my permit since 2001 but slacked off on carrying for a while. I'm back in the habit. You never know what could happen.

Now wait a minute. Shouldn't you have gone out the next day and joined a gym? Isn't that the way the story usually goes? Then you talk about how you got into such great shape that pushing the mower now is child's play??!!

Where exactly are you allowed to carry that weapon? On your person? At all times? I thought permits just applied to taking it in your vehicle?

You already know MY stand on lawn-mowing equipment!

As well as MY stand, and/or status, when it comes to concealed carry permits! I don't know how difficult it was to acquire in TN, but here in MO, it was no problem for me to get "grandfathered" in.(I've had at least one or more registered since I turned 22, would have been 21, but I wasn't HOME yet!)Had no problem at all.

And I still don't...!

Amen...oops I shouldn't have said that we have gun laws in Canada..in fact I bet we have lawn mower laws to..sometimes I think I am living in a collective outside Minsk...they should have a sign at the border welcome ot Crazy Lefty Land...:):):)

Goddess - It's a concealed carry permit...I can take it anywhere I want concealed, as long as they don't sell alcohol by the drink. It's usually under my over-sized shirts!

Robert - Yeah, the Canadian guy at the border didn't seem to like the fact I told him I had a permit that I used back home. "You carry one all the time?" he asked.

I carry a concealed weapon, but I keep it in my pants! ha, ha...get it? Okay, that was lame...sorry.

I'm still laughing!

In Ohio our former gutless GOP Gov kept putting the veto on the carry law...with a new NAMBLA supporting gutless Democrat Gov, we have no chance of conceal and carry anytime soon.

I solved the lawn problems, at my age I get someone else to do it for me.

I got my carry permit when those two folks from England stopped to sleep in their car on I-10 and some bastard came along and killed them. I did have a 38 MAG but the old hand joints hurt now so I have a nice little Lady Smith 38. It will do the job. Miss Bee has a carry permit also and she loves to shoot the crouch out of targets at the range.

Not A Grampy got his concealed weapons permit a few years ago after a rash of car jackings happened here. Like you he slacked off actually carrying his gun. But after the mall shootings he is wearing it again.

Good for everyone!

"...she loves to shoot the crouch out of targets at the range." That's priceless...good for her.

It's about intercoursing time that someone like you did the heroic thing and saved who-knows-how-many lives by busting a cap in a murderous psycho ass. THAT event will be the moment the tide of popular opinion turns to a more realistic stance on guns - that good people with guns can save and protect the good people who don't have them. For gawd's sake, at least the children! Someday, people will figure this out.

fuzzbert_1999@yahoo.com said...

I agree...but I really pray it isn't me that begins to turn the tide, but if it happens, I'll do my best.

I was curious as to how most folks would respond to your(our!)"pro-carry" statement. By the looks of it so far, maybe a small piece of the human race still has a chance!

I don't want to be the first to "turn the tide", either---but if, and when, it happens, it appears we MIGHT have a large handful of previously "silent-running" supporters out there...!

fuzzbert_1999@yahoo.com said...

I love "silent runners" they are the true ideology of this country.

FHB said...

I love that sentiment. I feel the same way. Have a permit but don't carry. I'm gonna do somethin' about that too.

I totally support people carrying weapons for protection (and assuming they know how to use them of course;).

The Omaha shooting really shook me up - it's the first time one of those has happened someplace where I actually go.

What scares me about hand guns isn't they guys like you who know what they're doing and have the training and the sense to only use it if it's truly necessary. It's the crazy wannabe heroes who are out there just looking for an excuse to shoot.

Scott from Oregon said...

It is the same ol same ol...

More guns out there, more deaths by guns.

Doesn't matter whether there are more or less "licenses".

More guns equals more deaths by guns.

That is just the way statistics works...

fuzzbert_1999@yahoo.com said...

Well Scott, you can't get rid of the guns. You outlaw them and they go underground. So, you might as well have one to even the odds.

You do what you want - I personally feel better having one.
