HAVING A GREAT TIME – PART 2

I took THE Fat Hairy Bastard to Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains today for a little taste of mountain fun. Hell, he was everywhere and into everything! He was poking his head in and out of little spaces I didn’t think he could get into!

When I get to feeling big and fat I just stand close to him and automatically lose 20 pounds!

I chauffeured his Solaria and his big butt around the 11-mile Cades Cove loop so he could strain his neck taking pictures of deer out in the field and one bear up a tree! He was snapping shots out the window and out the sunroof as we moved! Between us I think we snapped about 150 shots! And all I get to post here are the best shots of FHB!

As we came back home, I got to telling him about my Mustang days, and he decided to impress me with some of his skill…but wussed out going into a curve and nearly killed us! I’m kidding!

Kinda like a B-B in an oil drum, was he? Ain't used to all that open space, maybe!

I'll bet he sleeps good tonight---that is, if the PAIN from all that activity lets him......!

Cades Cove is one of my favorite places in the world. I take off every once in a while, mid-week, and end up there ... just so I can miss all the tourist traffic.

Some of my earliest memories, hanging out there and Cherokee... And a couple of out-of-the-way places.

Awesome. Looks like a great time. Just wondering - how far is that from Cleveland TN?

Cades Cove is probably a 100 miles from Cleveland. It's well south of me.

There's a Cleveland, Tennessee, too? You'd think they would have learned after the first mistake.

I tell you what, those folks were some little bitty skudders. I'd a been hatin' life, back in those days, hittin' my head on everything all the time. Beautiful scenery, and a great guide. You all should take the time to do the trip.
