MUSHY'S MOOCHINGS: WINTER STORM – HA!

WINTER STORM – HA!

This is what the local news is calling a “WINTER STORM,” can you believe it? There is maybe an inch, possibly two, but even last night before anything happened, all the area school systems closed for today. You can put good money on the fact that school will be closed tomorrow as well. They always say, “There are shaded areas on country roads that will remain slick,” so another “Snow Day” for all the kids!

It was evident something was going to happen, because there was a “ring around the moon” night before last. I tried to capture it, but my “point and shoot” camera’s lens was just not wide angle enough. I only caught one edge.

Hope you got out of school or work today and are lounging around the house in your PJs. Me, well, I got to take my wife to the doctor, but the roads look as good as my driving, so we will not have any trouble.

See ya.

Does it not snow there often? Seattle shut down when it snowed here because it happens about once every few years, but I thought people would be used to it in TN...

Almost exactly the same amount that I took pics of! I don't know what they'll do if it ever actually SNOWS this year! Look at BOTH of us---we've already forgotten when we were "little-farts", how we let-on in front of mom & dad with our "sadness" of a school closing! After which we broke our necks to be the first one to "break tracks" out the door, so we could all "suffer" together! And, of course, hope for more overnight! Still kinda look forward to it yet, for the "challenge", don't WE???!!!

My husband pointed out that ring around the moon last night while we were out walking.

We've just got rain and cold here. May get cold enough to freeze over the weekend. I'll have the fire blazin'. Hope all is well with the wife. Not pregnant eh? Now THAT would mess up the golden retirement years.

I tried capturing a moon ring on the first day of the year. My camera would barely show the moon much less the ring. I did googled some beautiful fictures takes by others.

Hey that's a snow for sure. When I lived up north I cherished the times I'd walk out and see that and sometimes you could smell the snow coming.

We had about 2 inches in places. It sure was pretty today, but most of it melted off this afternoon.

My old dogs has a hard time getting up the stairs until I salted them. They are old, fat, arthritis, heart disease. I'm dreading the day ....

No snow here, but rain, coldness and some sunshine here and there! The weather is crazy, crazy enough that I go from an electric blanket to shorts, to sweats, to nothing at times... trying to figure out this weather is useless!!

I love the pic of the moon! Awesome!

I love that picture, I can honestly say that I don't ever remember seeing a ring around the moon - ever!
