THE PARTY BOYS

You may not party like these ol’ boys, but if you do, be safe!

Over the years we have partied pretty hardy, but time is catching up with us and the number of empties are getting fewer and fewer. However, we still love to be together on holidays and remember the good times. One thing will always ring in our heads and that’s the laughter we shared.

Here’s to another New Year’s Eve – and being thankful for the times we’ve had and the time we still have together.

"...the numbers of empties are getting fewer and fewer." Might also apply in a metaphorical sense.

Happy New Year from the Poodles and dogs.

Whiskey sponge! "Tied by the lips to a pewter engine", as they used to say, referring to the mugs guys drank ale out of back in the day. Looks like a huge load of fun. Friends are the thing that make us rich, I think. The folks and sis will be here in about two hours and we'll head to the Outback Steakhouse for a Bloomin' onion and shrimp fixins. Mom and sis will get liquored up on margaritas, while dad and I have Dr pepper or tea (driving). Maybe there'll be a toast, Champaign, at their place at the appropriate hour this evening. They've got four bottles left over from Christmas. Dad was never a beer drinker, and I never acquired a taste for it. Sis was always more into chemical inducements (hippy), and the trouble she got into made me want to avoid that at all costs...

So I'll be having a totally boring time, wringing in the new year with the cats. Hey, they party hardy. You should see the carnage.

And don't think I'm not noticin' that yer both standin' in front of the same pile in the first shot. Makes for a good effect though.

We're not the alcoholics we appear to be, although my mom would argue the point, but we do enjoy our various libations, and each other.

She raised me Baptist and then converted to Catholicism, and completely missed the whole "grace" thing! I'm neither now - just a believer.

Actually, there was no intent to decieve, just that there were two separate pictures of us guys and I wanted us together. However, it does give the proper effect.

That's what it's all about, the GOOD old times! Makes you look forward to the next "celebrating-season", SPRING! (That is, if WINTER ever gets here!) Aw, what the hell, make-up your own "season for the reason!" Live for the day, huh?
